Texas Man Breaking Man’s Tooth In Argument Over Trump: Police

A Texas man who was seen on video punching another man as they argued over President Donald Trump has turned himself in after police obtained a warrant for assault, authorities said.

Jason Lata, 44 years old, was booked in Denton City Jail late Saturday and released a few hours later after the bond was posted, Denton Record-Chronicle reported.

Lata was involved in a scuffle on Saturday outside the Buc-ee convenience store that was captured on video and circulated on social media, according to the police. 

Video, Which showed a man in a hat yelling profanity at another man and shouting, "Turn it off! "The anti-Trump rap song by YG seemed to be playing in the background. The suspect, identified by the police as Lata, was standing with other men who wearing Trump T-shirts. Lata seen on video punching the victim in the face.

Police said the victim suffered a cut under the right eyebrow and a broken tooth.

Lata was held for $15,000 bail in Denton City Jail late Saturday, and released a few hours later after the bond was issued, Denton Record-Chronicle reported.

It was not clear whether Lata had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
